Georgia Public Service Commission Limo Service FAQs

All limousine companies operating in Georgia are required to be registered and have proof of insurance with the Commission. Chauffeurs are required to be licensed.
  • "Limousine" is any motor vehicle that has a seating capacity for less than ten passengers with a minimum of five seats behind the driver.

  • Owners of limousine service companies do not have to be approved as drivers of limousines. However they cannot have been convicted of any felony related to the operation of a motor vehicle.

  • It can take five to six weeks to obtain authority to drive a limousine.

  • The license must be renewed once a year.

  • A Chauffeur is anyone with a Georgia drivers license, who meets qualifications and is authorized by the commissioner.

  • Anyone who drives a luxury limousine needs chauffeurs license.

  • Chauffeur licenses are good for two years.

  • Limousine campanies have the right to charge a minimum.

    • Up to 4 hrs for prom season
    • Up to 6 hrs for New Years Eve and New Years Day
    • Up to 12 hrs for Super Bowl
    • All other times up to 3 hrs
