Passenger loading/unloading
To drop off passengers: You may stop briefly at the terminals to drop off passengers. If traffic is backed up, park in a short-term lot and walk your passengers inside.
To pick up passengers: This year, there's a new cell phone waiting area near Smith Terminal. Drivers picking up passengers can pull over on the arrivals road at the designated area and wait in their cars for their party to call. There is space for 30 cars. Unfortunately, no cell phone waiting area has been designated yet for the McNamara Terminal.
Instead, park in short-term parking and meet your party at baggage claim. Or wait off-site for your party to call, then drive over and pick them up.
One thing you can't do? Wait at curbside at arrivals or leave your vehicle at the curb.
During the holidays, the arrivals level at McNamara sometimes becomes clogged. If so, pick up your party at the international arrivals level, one level down.
Checking in: Either use a skycap outside (domestic travel only) or check your bags at the counter inside. McNamara Terminal has a baggage check on Level 6 of the parking structure but sometimes it is more crowded than inside the terminal. Most airline counters are now self-check-in; the agents will help you check your bags. Print out your boarding pass at home if possible to speed things up.
