Getting the Right Photographer
The first thing you need to do to make sure you are selecting the right photographer for your wedding is to meet them in person. Make sure that this person will be the same one taking the photos at your event. Make sure that this person is the person named on the contract.
Understand what types of photos you want and make sure the photographer is capable of shooting in that style. Do you want candid, posed maybe both. Think about whether you want color photos or black and white. Make clear your expectations of the amount and type of photos taken. This will help eliminate any surprises later when you receive your proofs.
Does the photographer shot on film or digital. Make sure the quality of the digital equipment will give you prints you will be happy with. Find out how many photos are taken vs how many photos you purchase. Some photographers charge by the roll of film.
Try to meet the photographer at the wedding's location. This will allow for some of the shots to be planned ahead of time.
